Prologue[]

10:07, 2/2/10. China

It had been a while since he’d walked the wet path to the old broken down cottage. The surrounding woodland echoed within itself with an empowering sense of loneliness, which was just the way the man liked it.

The oak door creaked on its hinges as he opened it, Never did get round to that, the thought echoed in his head. The older man stood by the window, the air in the cottage was not like it was outside, it was stale and smelled of chimney ash long forgotten to be swept away. “Close the door…..” Whispered the man, a voice croaky and weary with life. He neglected to close the door, his claustrophobia told him not to. “You always were apathetic,” sighed the man by the window. He waved a hand and the door slid shut “To the window.” He said. It was raining outside and every raindrop seemed like it hit the window as the younger man stood next to the other. “See that rain drop,” he said pointing to the window “That’s you, see how it slowly makes its way along the glass, alone….. An outsider.” The younger man nodded in agreement, life had taught him things. “Watch how some lone drops reach the bottom and disappear unnoticed by others.” The older man pointed to another raindrop “But then there are raindrops that slide down the pane and suddenly……” He paused “Two rain drops find each other,” true enough the two drops had formed into one bigger drop “The two are now stronger, happier more powerful as one…………. They are complete.” “Find your raindrop, Matthew. Find your power.” The younger man turned on his heel, opened the old oak door and walked out into the rain He had much to do……………………

===5:45 Saudi Arabia, southern cave system (specifications unknown.) 19/3/10===

Nothing but the eerie green neon lights above told the Arabian man where he was running, everything else was engulfing darkness, and you couldn’t even see the dull brown walls that wove the tight passage into a claustrophobic space. All the tunnels looked the same, especially in this light. He was getting confused, and he had to keep going. Life or death situation, ironic, seeing as that was what his entire life had depended on up until now, a laughable thought. He didn’t laugh. He was panting for breath, he was scared, terrified even. He was being hunted, not by a man. But by a legend….. He took a left, then a right, or was it a left he thought. The man stopped for breath near a fork in the tunnel. His mind was a blank, left or right? Left or right? Panic was setting in, his breathing became short and sharp, every second counted as a time in which his heart still thumped in his chest. He took the left. Wrong move……. He had run roughly around 50 meters up the narrow cave when he looked over his shoulder.

Right when the bullet entered his skull.
